Size: 12" x 16"
Constraints: Acrylic paint, canvas I first started this painting by sketching out general shapes that I saw in my reference photo. Then I did an under painting using only warm colors that are opposite of what wanted my final painting to have. Then I painted the actual colors on top, leaving some of the under painting showing through. I tried a lot of different combinations of colors, textures, and styles of painting. reference photo sketch under painting

Size: 6" x 9"
Constraints: Plexiglas, ink, paper, brayers, printing press To create these prints, we experimented with mixing 6 different colors of printing ink on plexiglas plates. I used a lot of other things, like string and bubble wrap, to create texture and add more elements to the prints. Once we were satisfied with what we created, we used a printing press to transfer the ink onto paper. |
Size: 12" x 16"
Constraints: acrylic paint, wax, acrylic gel, canvas, brushes The fist step to creating our acrylic transfers was to start experimenting with different washes on a canvas. After we has created a few different layers on the canvas, we chose black and white pictures that we wanted to incorporated into our projects. Using acrylic gel, we transferred our images onto our canvas. From there, we used different mediums to blend our pictures out and make our pieces look smooth and unified. |
