PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This project was focused around learning about climate change. In small groups, we researched climate change, specifically centered around our central questions: What is climate change? What are the causes? What are the affects? What are the solutions? Each group was tasked with creating some sort of project that addressed at least one of these questions. My group decided to mostly focus on the affects of climate change globally and how we can see it in our every day lives. We learned a lot about specific places that are being greatly affected by rising sea levels and also looked into the carbon cycles and permafrost. |

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
In this project, we studied the biological changes that our brains go through in adolescence. We began by learning about the different parts of the brain and their functions. Then we moved on to studying different topics that had to do with the brain during adolescence and making infographics about the information we found. I learned a lot during this project, especially about how stress affects the brain. This is very important to learn about because consistent stress can have detrimental effects on human brains. PERSONAL REFLECTION:
My biggest challenge during this project was creating infographics that I am actually proud of. At first, I didn't really know what topic I wanted to focus on. Once I figured that out, the research part was fairly easy. When it came time to actually create the infographics, I didn't have a clear enough picture of what I wanted to do, so I had to re-do it many times. Even though I am not at all confident in my infographic making skills, I stuck with it until I made something that looked good to me. My greatest success during this project was my research. I am really interested in stress and how it affects the brain, so I was determine to find good sources that went in depth about the topic. After a little searching, I found the website NCBI, which had some amazing articles. I learned so much more than I thought I would about my topic and I am happy that I found a way to communicate all that I have learned. |
