PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
For this project, I decided to combine photography and Photoshop. I first had one of my friends take a profile picture of me and then I found a few pictures of mountains that I have taken that I liked. I looked at a few different tutorials about double exposure and used Photoshop to combine both photos together into one final picture. I tried a few different pictures of mountains before I found the ones that I thought looked best. Once we did a critique, I changed a few more things and came up with my final project. For the drafts of my project, I played around with adding color in different areas as well as some different elements. |

PROJECT REFLECTION:
I decided to explore double exposure because I really wanted to incorporate both Photoshop and photography into my project. I also thought that learning how to do double exposure all on my own would be a good challenge that could build my skills in Photoshop even more. I really liked this project because I got a lot of free time to explore Photoshop and try a lot of different things. I think that the skills that i learned in this project, not just about creating double exposures, but about layers, Photoshop tools, and shortcuts will be very helpful for future projects inside and outside of school. Now I know a lot more about how Photoshop works and I am much more confident in taking a project into my own hands and learning how to create a project all on my own. |

Scale in Art: Scale in art is the size of objects. For example, if you had an object that was further away from the viewer, it would be smaller than an object that is up close. If you do not pay attention to scale when you are creating art, it will make it look unrealistic or unnatural.
Foreground, Middleground, & Background: In a picture, the foreground is the plane that is closest to the viewer and usually the most defined and detailed. Also, the foreground is usually the focus of the photo and draws the viewer's attention. The background is the plane that is furthest away from the viewer and is usually less vibrant, detailed, and textured. The middle ground is in between the fore and background. Tools I found most helpful in Photoshop: In Photoshop, the tools I found most useful for this project were the brush tool, the pen tool, and being able to manipulate the hue and saturation of the layers. The pen tool makes it easier to make accurate selections and the brush tool helps you sketch online. |
